3/4 cup flour
Zest of an orange
3 tablespoons juice from orange
1/2 cup sugar
Pinch of salt
5 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon almond extract
Confection sugar to sprinkle

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the dry ingredients. In a bowl add flour, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl add in eggs. Using a mixer, beat the eggs, then add in your vanilla extract, almond extract, and sugar.
Slowly add in the melted butter and continue to beat. Once incorporated you can now slowly pour in the flour and mix until combined. Don’t over mix.
Fold in you orange zest and three tablespoons of juice of an orange.
Spray your Madeleine pan with “Pam” or you can spread some butter onto your Madeleine pan. Using a spoon, fill about 3/4 of each mold.
Bake in the oven for about 10-14 minutes or until you see the edge of the Madeleine turns slightly brown. Enjoy

  1. Is there any way to make these if you don’t have a Madeleine pan? My kitchen is small and I try to avoid buying unnecessary kitchen gadgets, so I was wondering how I can make these without any special equipment.

    • Hello, using actual madeleine molds are really the best because their shape ensures that the finished product will have the right “crispness” to the edges that everyone adores, but you can always use mini muffin pans.It will still taste the same and you will still get that crispness around the edges. The shape would just be a tad different 🙂
