Apple Pie Crust
1 box Pillsbury® refrigerated pie crusts, softened as directed on box
6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples (6 medium)
3/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the Leaves
1 pre-made pie crust
food coloring gel ( red, green, orange and yellow)
Heat oven to 350°F.
Place 1 pie crust in ungreased 9-inch glass pie plate. Press firmly against side and bottom.
In large bowl, gently mix filling ingredients and pour into crust-lined pie plate. Using a sharp knife, carve a tree shape into the center of the second pie crust.
After you place this crust on top of the pie and trim the edges, fold over the crust and pinch edges tightly. Use the excess pie crust to make leaves.
TO MAKE LEAVES:Separate the dough into 4 equal parts and color them with red, green, orange and yellow coloring gel. Roll out the dough and cut into leaves.
Use a tooth pick to score the leaves.
Place the prepared leaves around the tree. After all the leaves are placed, brush the entire pie with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 350 F degrees for 35-45 minutes. Enjoy
