10 apples (honey crisp, gala)
1 large orange, quartered with peel
3 cinnamon sticks
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
2 pieces whole cloves
1 inch piece of ginger cut into coin sized slices
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Quarter apples and put apples,orange with cinnamon sticks, ginger, and spices in a large pot. Fill pot with water until apples are completely covered. Bring to a boil uncovered for about an hour, occasionally mashing the softened apples with the back of a wooden spoon.
After an hour, turn off heat and allow to cool for a while. Once the mixture is cooled, transfer to a blender and blend until the fruit has completely pureed and then strain completely.
Garnish with cinnamon sticks
*Try to pluck out the cinnamon sticks before you put everything in the blender
